Job Description

Maintain general fleet maintenance and repairs on light and heavy duty equipment. 14/14 Shift, 12 hours per day. This position is local to Fort McMurray, flights and accommodations NOT included. This position is a temporary 6 month contract.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ability to work in a team orientated environment

  • General maintenance on light and heavy duty trucks and equipment

  • Repairs on fuel and hydraulic systems

  • Electrical system repairs

  • General engine, transmission, and driveline repairs

  • Engine and transmission electronic repairs

  • Perform service tasks as assigned.

  • Proficient and accurate job diagnosis to ensure job quality

  • Keeping service manager up to date with diagnosis and any problems encountered

  • Ensuring parts department has all needed information to accurately procure correct parts quote as needed

  • Complete inspection and detailed list of additional repairs needed

  • Keep work area clean, orderly and safe

  • Any other related duties as may be required by supervisor

Education and Experience

  • Mechanical experience required

  • Alberta Journeyman an asset

  • Red seal as a Heavy Equipment Technician an asset

  • Experience with computers required

  • Experience in light & heavy duty truck and equipment repairs required

  • Class 1 driver’s license considered an asset

  • 2-5 years continuous experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment

Skills and Knowledge

  • Written and verbal communication skills required

  • Physically able to stand, crawl, squat, kneel, reach, pull, push, lift 50lbs, climb steps and ladders and able to manipulate hand tools
